How to find the BEST fiction

There’s nothing I love more than browsing bookstore shelves. I love skimming hundreds of titles and covers at once and then picking up books to read pages at random without having to click through a screen to get there. Unfortunately, it’s a forty-minute round trip by car to my local bookstore. Even though I adore books and am constantly reading – I probably only go to Vromans three a mere three or four times a year because to get there is an EFFORT.

So how do I find fiction? I’m not actually sure. It’s a mix of what Instagram offers up to me and what friends tell me they loved to read. But I do miss making my own discoveries and I wonder if you do, too.

Ben Shepherd over at Shepherd.com is trying to fix the problem of book discoverability online and he’s created a site that replicates the experience of wandering around the bookstore by having authors recommend their ‘best of’ books and then linking those books to related ones.

I just published a listing there on ‘the best suspense novels in a suburban setting’ so if suburban tensions are your jam go check out my list. You might just find your next great read!
